History of photography
The inventor of photography was a French man; Nicéphore
Niépce. The day of his succession was in mid-1820s. Even he succeeded, and the
earliest results were very crude .
However, even photography was invented in 1820s, first ever photography
studio in east London opened in Stepney in the early 1850s. And only in 1900
photography became accessible to everyone. After world war photographs start
showing changing life in East London, taking photographs of bomb sites,
demolition and new housing. They showed hard lives of people living in east London.
They also start documenting child
poverty and slum housing, and used to use in campaigns.
At that time photographs use to take pictures of changing
London, but East London is still changing every day. Local people still
photograph their communities and streets. The East London has gone from being
the outsiders to hipster and luxury flats.
The photographers Polly Braden and David Company explored
River Lea and captured area in 2004 and 2005. River Lea which runs from
Hertfordshire to London and joins Thames River. To, photograph they used bike
armed with a camera and a light meter. Their project includes documentary and
street art. They said that there are major changes in east London.
